The mission of the Mid-Canada Marine Dealers Association is to promote the marine and power sport industry for the benefit of all members and to facilitate safety, education and leadership to enable the industry to maximize its potential in our region.

The Mid-Canada Marine Dealers Association (MCMDA) was founded through the efforts of its first President, Ed Rondeau of Rond's Marine. Ed perceived and put into play a working marine dealers group that would promote the boating industry as a whole not only in the Province of Manitoba but the Kenora area as well.

His vision included the hiring a Boat Show Manager to work closely with an elected Boat Show Committee to arrange and manage its own Boat Show in Winnipeg each year. The current show manager is Jim flood of Winnipeg. This working union has proven to be a success throughout the years resulting in the Show now encompassing all three floors of the Winnipeg Convention Centre.

The MCMDA has grown in membership and not only promotes the Boat Show for its members, but have also increased their level of commitment to the boating and fishing industry.

• Donation of pump-out facilities to both Redboine Boat Club & Rockeries in Keewatin, Ontario
• Urban angling Partnership Program
• Zebra Mussel Program
• On-water Personal Water Craft Training
• Safe Boating Program
• National Discover Boating Program
• Active government lobbying for Bill C-10 (PWC)
• Government lobbying for Byrd Amendment
• Promoted boating through a local advertising campaign
• Actively promotes the Marine and Power Sport Industry as a viable career option
• Member educational opportunities
• Recent designation of the Marine and Power Equipment Technician as an official Trade in the Province of Manitoba

MCMDA is managed by an elected Board of Directors. Each Director donates their time and much effort in working on various MCMDA committees throughout the year to promote both the fishing and boating activities.
